HI! Okay, can I just say it took my FOREVER to figure this thing out, and I didn't realize that we were all doing these bios until a few days ago…and then I tried writing one, but everything I wrote deleted! SO heres a second shot at this 😛
1–My name is Jillian Albert…you can call me Jill or Jillian, it doesn't matter to me! But I will introduce myself as Jillian
2–I am from good ol Mentor, Ohio
3–I am currently studying at the University of Toledo. I am a senior (well going into senior year…I never know what to tell people during summer transition times!! BUT I have successfully completed my Junior year, so I guess that makes me a senior!). I am studying both Theater and Psychology in hopes of pursuing Drama Therapy. Pretty much, in a nut shell, I want to use drama therapy (theatrical techniques) to help heal sex trafficked victims and provide them a means of coping with their trauma. I hope that the Lord reveals a lot to me this summer about what this will look like for me
4–hahaha well, I am pleased to say I do not "mouch" off of my parents for money, but its not like I'm loaded or anything! I was a peer mentor (which is similar to an RA, in the dorm I RESIDE in) but for next year I UPGRADED (yeeeah…) to an RA position, which means free room and board! And I also work the front desk of the dorm…which means sorting mail, checking ids, and all that jazz…making dat minimum wage!
5–hmm…what do I like to do for fun? Well, a lot of things! Iove my ipod, so I'm always listening to that when I should be doing productive things, like writing a paper or studying! I got a camera around Christmas time, so taking pictures is a fun thing I like to to! A lot of my free time is taken up by being in plays…which is kind of stressful because rehearsals are every night, but in the end rewarding and fun! And, this is so standard, but i enjoy simply being with my FRIENDS, even if we aren't doing anything, I just like the company
6–Likes–I am so thankful for music! I could throw a bunch of bands that I like too…but I'll save that for later (CLIFFHANGER!) haha! I like Jesus, laughter, skinny jeans, random adventures, beanies, icees, chipotle (particularly their rice and guac…I know I will be wanting that soo badly 3 weeks into being in India :P), meaningful movies, theater, tattoos (i REALLY want a sleeve one of these days….), dogs, colorful things….eh theres more but I am drawing a blank!
Dislikes–drawing a blank when people ask me what my likes and dislikes are, when people stare, when my name is mispronounced (that may sound ridiculous, but it does happen!), seeing hair in the shower by the drain…SICK! getting cereal and theres no milk…well actually I just dislike not having food in the house in general, bugs, rudeness, and, okay, I'm sorry, but I just really dislike when guys wear flipflops… I don't know why! It just weirds me out! 😛
Enough about debby downer dislikes! What makes me unique?! I don't know! I have a tattoo of a bible verse in hebrew on my foot, psalm 94:18 (totally appropriate its on my foot! wooo!), I have many piercings, the most noticable are my septum and monroe, uhhh… what else?! Well, I have been told I have a funny laugh (that sounds very manly! HAHA). Oh! I like to laugh A LOT, and I make weird noises (sometimes without even realizing it), I've been told that makes me pretty unique… haha
7–My first missionary trip was to Panama City Beach, Florida through Campus Crusade for Christ, then I went to Leogane, Haiti through a college group at Toledo called Zakuska (Zakuska literally means "Polish Sandwich," the name doesn't mean anything important, but our vision is to show the love of Christ to people in the community and on campus). And most recently I went to Valencia, Venezuela on a summer project through Campus Crusade.
8–I am most excited about FINALLY GETTING THERE and working with the girls! I feel like this is something God has laid on my heart for a very long time, so I can't wait to see what He will do there! I can't wait to meet all of you! AHHHH IREOGJSEKSDW! It's going to be awesome! I'm pretty pumped its an all girls group, just so we can really focus on what we need to focus on, and not silly boyzzzzz. I am excited for us to grow this summer and really pursue the Lord and allow him to use us for his glory! Something I want to be used for by God is to really show the girls his love. I want God to really humble me going into this trip. I don't even know what these girls are going through, but I want them to see how their lives can be transformed through Christ by his amazing love and grace!
