Hi friends!
I'm going to take advantage of the rubric if you don't mind…
1. My name is Caitlin.
2. I currently live in Houston, Texas but I'm originally from Lafayette, Louisiana. That's where most of my family still is. I moved to Texas when I was 8 and have been here ever since for the most part.
3. School is a crazy one for me. I went to DePaul University in Chicago, IL my freshman year of college…then transferred to Baylor University in Waco, Tx and now I'm at Sam Houston State University in Houston. It's a long story haha. I'm an English major and I hope to teach underprivileged/low-income high school kids someday. I'd love to do Teach For America if possible.
4. I currently work at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center as a server in the dining room. I really like the job because it fits well with a full-time school schedule, but its definitely hard sometimes watching all of the wealth and excess. God has definitely blessed me through this job though because its helping me pay for some of this trip! Haha.
5. I don't have a lot of free time between work, school, and church, but when I do I like:
Coffee. Cooking. Books. Music. Running (I'm an amateur though). My small group. Long conversations. Other people's pets. Quality time with loved ones. Playing with makeup. Museums. Traveling. Hot tea. World Market. New places. Whole Foods. Bebopping around really.
6. Likes/Dislikes/Goals
Dislikes: Christmas Country Music. Socks with Sandals. When couples sit on the same side of a booth. Peanut Butter and Jelly. Bugs that sting (Major fear). BBQ (I live in Texas…its a problem). Awkward silences. Speeding tickets. Horses. Rainy days. Yelling. Political arguments. Mathematics. Rising fuel costs.
Likes: Coffee/Tea. Organization. Flowers. Nerdy English stuff. Baking anything. Talking about my feelings. Talking about your feelings. Talking about how we feel about our feelings. Sushi. Cajun food. Driving with my windows down. Candid photos. Blankets. TOMS. World Vision. Cinnamon. Buying people baby shower gifts. Useful Quotations. Books by Shauna Niequist.
Goals: Ride in a hot air balloon. Visit every continent. Write a book. Touch an elephant.
7. Previous Experience:
1) Two weeks in San Fernando, Mexico through Woodsedge Community Church.
2) Two weeks in Quito, Ecuador through Woodsedge Community Church.
8. I AM SO EXCITED!
P.S. I can't wait to meet all of you. Please friend me on facebook and we can start being friends! Haha. I'm nervous about the actual testimonies that these women will have. I'm nervous about the things I will hear and see and how these things will change me. I'm nervous that I won't know what to say or how to even begin praying for these women. But God has been faithful and so I know that He will continue to be faithful. I'm praying for His total provision in terms of financial, emotional, and spiritual preparation for this trip.
Not liking BBQ in Texas is an issue=) If it helps at all, I don’t really like spicy food, and living in southern Arizona presents a problem as well!

Ya I’m with Ashley on this one..not liking BBQ is a problem when you live in Texas..especially since its my favorite! Mmm BBQ and sweet tea..gotta love it!
