So… My name is Rebecca Prather but people call me Rebecca, Becca, or BecBek

The Where. I currently live in Boerne, Texas, a town about 20 minutes north of San Antonio.

Academia.  I am a senior in high school. ๐Ÿ™‚ I am still deciding where I want to go to college next year but I have it down to either UT Austin or George Washington University and I still have a month to decide so I will take full advantage of all the time I have. I will be majoring in Biology as a premed student wherever I go. ๐Ÿ™‚

Nine to Five. I had a job last year but my parents didn’t want me to work this year so instead I volunteer a lot and spend all my free time at church.

Killing Time. I play tuba in my school’s band and am the president of FCCLA at my school. I love love love to bake and decorate food so any free time I have is spent doing that.

The Important Stuff. I hate potatoes, eggs, and any mushy food with a passion. I have a crazy loud obnoxious laugh that will probably weird you out the first time you hear it. Shane Claiborne inspires me.  I want to be a medical missionary in the Middle East/Africa specializing in obstetric fistula repairs. I am an easygoing person and really outgoing but super duper shy when I meet new people for the first time. Chai tea lattes and the color orange make my life complete, as does God.

Previous Experience.
I went to Kenya with AIM last summer for a month on the Ambassador trip.
In 2009 I went on a week long mission trip in South Carolina and did roof/house repairs for a woman with Lupus.
In 2008 I went on a 2 week mission trip to Honduras and built a house.

The Nit N' Gritty. So I am super excited for this trip as probably all of you are! It is so crazy how this whole thing happened. I suppose the only thing I am slightly worried about is that I am a lot younger that ya’ll, but I don’t think that will be a problem ๐Ÿ™‚  I can’t wait to get to training camp and meet everyone!

One response to “Rebecca’s Bio”

  1. Hi, Rebecca. Nice to meet you. Ah, chai tea, so good. You should not have a problem getting this in India, if you do, I’ll be quite surprised. Anyway, glad to have you on the team.
